Edward "Eddie" I. Hodges of Goshen, OH. Born on December 4, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH. Went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2017 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of 42 years to Jackie (nee Gilkison) Hodges. Loving father of Eddie Hodges and Charlie (Veronica) Hodges. Caring grandfather of Julia Kidd, Olivia Hodges, Triniti Hodges, Elijah Hodges, Ayden Hodges, Alexis Hodges, Keegen Hopkins, Lillian Hodges, Carey Hodges and Sophia Hodges. Dear brother of Richard Hodges and the late Spencer Hodges. Cherished son of the late Irvin Edward and Oleta (nee Fields) Hodges. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Eddie proudly served in the United States Army for seven years during the Vietnam Era and served two tours during the Vietnam War in 1968-69. Eddie was a Staff Sergeant of his company and served as an infantryman in five major conflicts. He also served as a LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol). He was a TET offense survivor. During his time in Vietnam he was a Silver Star recipient and was awarded two Purple Hearts. Eddie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goshen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 11 AM - 1 PM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where military honor services will be at 1 PM, followed by the funeral service. Pastor Daniel Ivy and Pastor Junior Pitman will be the ministers for Eddie's services.
