Edith F. Davis, 87, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 surrounded by her family at the Laurels of Blanchester. Born on January 21, 1929 in Bath Co., Kentucky to Millard Highley and Hester (nee Sorrell) Highley. Edith was the beloved mother of Willa (Lawrence) Whitaker and Debbie (Michael) Schalk; loving grandmother of Larry (Steve Howe) Whitaker Jr., Shannon (Jeff) Groendyke, Ravin (Rey) Rodriguez, and Danielle (Charles) Morris; proud great-grandmother of Cameron and Madison Berrien, Trinity Morris, Anna and Max Groendyke, and Mindy Newman; great-great-grandmother of Ethan Newman; dear sister of Lorena (William) Reed, Eva (Richard) Fisher, Robert (Janet) Highley, and Don (Samantha) Highley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Paul Davis; brothers, Earl Highley and Mearl Sorrell. Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 6-8pm at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, OH. A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Blanchester IOOF Cemetery, Blanchester, OH.
