Dwight Eugene Villars, born on August 4, 1942, in Cincinnati Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 84, in San Rafael, CA.
After graduating from Blanchester High School, he married Lorna Catherine Snyder on December 17th, 1960. Dwight is survived by his loving sons, Tom (Ken) Villars and Rick (Suzanne) Villars, and his loving daughter, Denise (Sigurd) Strack as well as his grand-daughters, Katrina Strack, Lexi Strack, Niki Strack, Tina Strack, Heidi Strack, and his grandson, Mattias Strack. Dwight is also survived by his sisters, Mariann Desantis and Nancy (Jim) Keeton, his brother James (Diane) Villars, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Beulah Sewell and father, Ralph Villars.
Farming was a major passion in Dwight's life. He was a member of the Blanchester chapter of Future Farmers of America in high school and then ran grain and livestock farms in Ohio before moving to Texas where he worked in turf farming and raised cattle. Dwight moved to California to be near his grandchildren later in life. He introduced all of them to the fun and responsibility of prepping, planting, weeding, and harvesting vegetable gardens as well as caring for fruit trees.
Dwight's true passions were friends and family. Everywhere Dwight lived he made friends and shared life with fellow farmers, neighbors, the parents of grandchildren's friends, and the people who worked in his community.
He always placed family first. From his joy at being part of his aunt Beverly (Gene) Wiliams wedding as a young boy, to joining in celebrations for all the life events of his siblings, children, and many nieces and nephews since. Whatever was going on, in hard times or good, he always focused on being there to honor and to support those he loved. As many of his friends and family have said,” When Dwight was there, goodness was always there as well".
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 8th from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. At Tuft Schildmeyer Funeral home in Blanchester, 120 West Main Street, Blanchester Ohio. Interment to follow at Blanchester cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to support the local youth in agriculture via the Blanchester-Great Oaks FFA chapter.
