Dr. Melissa L. of Los Angeles, CA formerly of Cincinnati, age 53 died on April 9, 2008. Dear wife of Dr. Russell Thornton of Los Angeles. Loving mother of Tanis Meyer-Thornton and Zane Meyer-Thornton both of Los Angeles. Daughter of Helen L. Meyer of Milford and the late Albert F. Meyer. Sister of Diana Meyer-Margeson of Loveland. She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and also the University of Minnesota. She was currently a Professor of History at the University of California at Los Angeles and a Specialist in the field of Native American History.
