Laura Scott Etter '88 Endowed Fund supporting the Laura Scott Etter Science Award This endowed fund agreement is established by Laura '88 and Kurt Etter '87 and Michael Salvino '87 to recognize Laura's appreciation of the education she received and relationships that were built during her time at Marietta College. The family, long-time friend and fellow Marietta College graduate, Mike Salvino, and others made gifts to endow this fund to benefit an outstanding student with a major in one of the physical sciences. The Donors direct that proceeds from their gifts made to the College, along with all other contributions directed to this fund, shall be held in an endowed fund (the "Fund"), named the: Laura Scott Etter '88 Endowed Fund The annual distributions from the income earned on the Fund principal shall be used to provide an award at Honor's Convocation and recognized at commencement to the student from the physical sciences with the most outstanding capstone project, as evaluated by a faculty team. 1.The award is to be $1, 000 per year and the recipient will also receive a medal to wear at commencement. Income in excess of $1, 000 will be used to purchase the medal 2. Recipients must be graduating seniors at Marietta College and have successfully completed their capstone project for review by a faculty team 3. The faculty team will be comprised of faculty from all physical science majors 4.The recipient will be recognized at commencement and in the commencement program. A photo will be taken each year after commencement with the faculty advisor, recipient and the college president 5.An on-line record of award winners will be maintained and available on the college web-site.
