Dr. Dayton Wayne Willoughby, D.D.S. of Mason, Ohio. Son of the late Harley and Mary Jane Willoughby. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Mills) Willoughby. Loving father of Sara Lou Cochran and Deborah Jane (Fred) Kline. Proud grandfather of Daniel (Caroline) and David Kline. Step grandfather of Karyn (Marty) Graves. Step great grandfather of Nathan and Kayla Graves. Dearest friend and brother-in-law of Marjorie Richey. Uncle of Gary Mills and Stephen Richey. Also leaves behind many friends at Mason Christian Village. Passed away May 29, 2010 at age 91. A memorial service will be held in August at Mason Christian Village. He was one of only 2 students form his high school graduating class to attend college, but his father Harley strongly encouraged this and financed Dayton's studies at Ohio State University, where he graduated from its Dental School in 1943. He was on the DWW was born November 22, 1918 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Harley Willoughby & Mary Jane Sunday Willoughby. His middle name "Wayne" is from the town where he was born. "Dayton" was the first name of the town's mayor, a friend of Harley's. Until the age o Dayton, Mary, and baby Sara moved back to Ohio to be with their families. Dayton was a dentist for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton, Ohio for 15 years (1947-1962).
