Donnie Joe
Raines, Sr.
Dec 5, 1942 — Aug 24, 2026
Loveland
Donnie Joe Raines Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Loveland, Ohio, on August 24, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. He was 83 years old.
Donnie was born on December 5, 1942, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to Joe and Ruby (nee Poore) Raines. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning a long and successful career in the insurance industry. He became an Insurance Agent with Allstate and was proud to own and operate his own agency.
On February 16, 1962, Donnie married the love of his life, Diane Christine (nee Castriotta) Raines. Together, they shared more than 64 years of marriage, building a beautiful family and a lifetime of memories.
Donnie was a man with a generous heart who was always willing to do whatever he could to help the people he loved. Family was at the center of his world, and he had a special gift for bringing people together. He loved all things food and was famous for hosting the best barbecues, Thanksgiving celebrations, and game nights. His home was a place where there was always room for one more person, another plate of food, and plenty of laughter.
He found joy in the simple things that made life memorable. He loved horse racing, watching cooking shows, and listening to music—especially James Brown and Johnny Cash. And when the music came on, Donnie was known to show off some of the smoothest dance moves around. His sense of humor, warmth, and ability to make people laugh and feel welcome touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Donnie is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Christine Raines; his children, Tammy Radcliff (Tony Ziggas), Carol Raines, Donna Volle (Ken Volle), and Donnie Raines Jr. (Sarah Raines); his grandchildren, Amy Corbin (Adam), Jessica Lamb, Mark Radcliff (Ashley), Christina Lewetch (Steve), Katie Hughes (Kyle), Kaylee Raines, Emmaline Raines, Jackson Raines, Ava Raines, and Sophia Raines; and his great-grandchildren, Nathan and Nicholas Corbin, Jonathan and Joseph Lamb, Gracelyn, Ian, and Max Radcliff, Ava and Trevor Raines, and William and Adam Lewetch.
He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Stacey Martin, who passed away in 2024; and his brothers, Robert Raines Jr. (Gwendolyn), who passed away in 1991, and Wayne Raines (Charlotte), who passed away in 2009.
Donnie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
Until we meet again, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa—save us a dance.
