Donald Ray Dowd of Batavia, OH. Born on December 7, 1934 in Cynthiana, KY. Went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of 54 years to Helen (nee McFadden) Dowd. Loving father of Dennis (Sabrina) Dowd, Donna (Bill) Messinger, Dwight (Holly) Dowd and Dorothy (Jeff) O'Neil. Loving and proud grandfather of Megan (Kris) Kalin, Justin Messinger, Andrew Dowd, Maxwell Harmon, Anna Dowd, Allie O'Neil, Lauren O'Neil, Savannah Dowd and Jack O'Neil. Dear brother of Louise Pickett, Bob Dowd, Bill Dowd and Lena Walden and half brother of Richard, Joyce and Doris. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Mary Lou (nee Angel) Dowd, 7 brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Friday, January 2, 1 PM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where friends will be received from 11 AM until the time of service. Interment, Plainview Cemetery, Newtonsville, OH.
