Donald Lohr, beloved husband of Joan (nee Hildebrand) for 61 years, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2021 at the age of 84. He was the son of Edward and Helen (nee Gardner) Lohr. Don was the loving father of Cindy (Tony) Dolan and the loving grandfather of Jackie Dolan (Craig Garrett), and Kelly Oelker (Andy) and the great grandfather of A.J. Oelker. He will be missed by his brother-in-law, Frank Hildebrand (Barbara) and his sister-in-law, Melody Hildebrand (late Eugene) and his nieces and nephews:  Tammy (Chris) Conly, Kevin (Katie) Hildebrand, Michael (Cassie) Hildebrand, Jeffery (Angie) Hildebrand and David (Kelly) Hildebrand.  He will be also be missed by several great nieces and nephews.  He was a dear cousin of Ken (Beverly) Lohr, Howard (Estelle) Menke, Mary Ann Gardner (late Joe) and John Miehling. Don grew up in North Fairmount and attended Hughes High School.  He joined the US Army Reserves and later was a member of the US Air Force Reserves, where in October 1962 he was called to active duty for the Cuban Crisis.  He received an honorable discharge from the US Air Force Reserves. Don retired from Kahn's in 1990 following 30 years with the company.  After retirement, he built his and Joan's retirement home in Goshen, Ohio. Family and Friends will be received at the Visitation on Friday, August 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, Ohio 45122, where services will be held on Saturday, August 7 at 10 a.m., beginning with a SW Ohio VFW military honor service followed by the funeral service. Pastor Paul Crisp will officiate at the funeral home. Donald Hurd will provide the music at the visitation. Burial will take place on Saturday, August 7, located at Plainview Cemetery, St. Rt. 131 and 727, Goshen, Ohio  45122 Memorial donations may be made in memory of Donald Lohr to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45263 or to the charity of one's choice.
