Donald E. Gilbert, 78, of Blanchester, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2016. Born September 17, 1937 in Lerose, Kentucky, son of Arlie and Emmaline Gilbert. He was the beloved father of Ginger (Mark) Whitacre, Donald "Mike" (Lisa Michael) Gilbert, and Patti (Jeff) Mclaren; loving grandfather of Tanya Whitacre, Bill Whitacre, Alex (Cindi) Whitacre, Matthew Gilbert, Caitlyn Gilbert, Zebulun Gilbert, Candice Laws, Cassandra Mclaren, and Sean Mclaren; proud great-grandfather of Morgan, Brayden, and Parker; dear brother of Tony (Ida) Gilbert. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Emmaline Gilbert; brother, Berry Jack Gilbert; sister, Jaliah Taylor. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 10am until 12pm at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio 45107. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 12:30am at Lerose Cemetery, Booneville, Kentucky.
