Donald F. Barnes, 87, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on January 19, 2026, at the Laurels of Blanchester.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janet (nee Christophel) Barnes; two children, Kathleen (David) Abbott and Donald (Denise) Barnes; grandchildren, Michelle Abbott, Carolyn Abbott, and Leslie (Adam) Emig; step-grandchildren, Wilburn (Alissa) Witt, Luther Witt, and Benjamin (Brandy) Witt; great-grandchildren, Ellie Rae Emig; step-great-grandchildren, Alex, Dominique, Harmony, Lacy, Antonio, Vincent, Autumn, Amber, Braden, Cayden, Jamie, Cheyenne, and Colton.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Flora (nee Rice) Barnes; siblings, Robert Barnes, Glysta Barnes, Gladys Barnes, and Eunice Barnes.

A service will be held at 1PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W Main St., Blanchester, Ohio.

Interment will take place at Edwardsville Cemetery.
