Beloved husband of 49 years to Virginia Mae (Wheeldon) Messer. Loving father of Keith Messer, Jeff (Penny) Messer and Paula Stewart. Proud Papaw of Ashley Alsip, Anthony Alsip, Kara Messer, Kyle Messer, Casey Messer, Nicolas Messer and Alexus Messer and great-papaw of Joseph Pauley, Aaron Pauley, Easton Alsip and Chase Lacey. Dear brother of Jessie Golden and the late Clifford Messer, JT Messer, Evelane Swafford, Lizzie Swafford and Irene Gray. Cherished son of the late Charlie and Mealie (Mills) Messer. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Services will be held on Friday, July 11, 11 AM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of service. Interment, Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, Ohio. Pastor Dwayne Cornett of Garden Acres Pentecostal Church will be the presiding minister for the services.
