David Michael Wallace, 78, of Maineville, Ohio passed away July 24, 2022 surrounded by the love of his wife, children and grandchildren. Cherished husband of Carol Nordloh Wallace for 53 years and loving father of Elizabeth (Thomas) Hodar; David (Erin) Wallace, Sarah Wallace, Emily (Kevin) Ivers and Stephen (Kristen) Wallace. Dave was very proud of his family, including his 12 grandchildren; Patrick and Maira (Elizabeth), Elyse and Megyn (David), Anna and Caroline (Sarah), Ronan, Kate and Allie (Emily) and Sophia, Kenzie and Fitz (Stephen). He is also survived by his brother Richard Wallace and sister Gail Carroll and many nieces and nephews. Dave is preceded by his parents, Richard and Moira O'Donnell Wallace and his sister Barbara Gerard.
Before starting his family with the love of his life, Dave served in the United States Army as a Captain and Green Beret assigned to the 10th Special Forces in Ft. Devens. Dave and Carol then returned to Cincinnati to start and raise their five children. A proud Xavier University graduate, Dave spent years as a season ticket holder celebrating his Muskies and enjoying his time as President of the Xavier Alumni Association. It was during these years that David built his own financial services business from the ground up. A pilar in his industry, Dave excelled and qualified for numerous awards and accolades throughout his nearly 50-year career. Committed to helping other's and doing God's work, he volunteered for over 15 years at Tender Mercies in Cincinnati, orchestrating and serving meals to homeless adults suffering with mental illness. He was a founding member of The Community of the Good Shepherd in Montgomery and a long-time member of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Morrow. Always a passionate learner, Dave fulfilled a dream and was ordained a Deacon after graduating from The Athenaeum of Ohio. Deacon Dave then served the parish of St Philip for over a decade until his recent retirement. While Sunday mornings were for God, Saturday was for the fairway. Dave was a passionate golfer and loved his Saturday tee time, weekday leagues and any chance he could spend time with his friends on the course.
Dave was caring, strong, compassionate, and fearless. He modeled what being a devoted Catholic, husband, father and member of the community is. Dave loved his wife and family fiercely. Dave and Carol were inseparable, and his presence is sorely missed by many, especially his bride. To know Dave is to have loved him. His boyish grin and the way his blue eyes sparkled could melt the hardest of hearts.
