Dan was born on July 24, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Paul Richard Rolfes and Erma Voiers Rolfes. He was a proud graduate of St. Xavier High School and Thomas Moore College and carried the values of faith, discipline, and service with him throughout his life. After graduation he began his professional career with Ernst and Ernst CPA firm before he found his true calling in the manufactured housing industry and entrepreneurship. Over his 60+ year career, he helped create numerous companies, co-founded Centerbank, chaired many different boards, and partnered with like-minded people from all walks of life. When he founded Holiday Homes in 1963, he mastered every job in the company, including driving the mobile home delivery truck! He grew the company as CEO to over 100 employees and valued every employee and their role in their mutual success. He was proud of every single job he did and was always quick to share a story of his own life lessons with a smile on his face. He helped innumerable people to realize the best versions of themselves. Of all the titles he held, however, his favorite was Grandpa- affectionately known as “Gaga” and “Pop Pop.” It was in this role that his joy, generosity, and boundless love shone most brightly.
