Cherished husband and father, Daniel Lewis Phipps, Sr. of Cincinnati, formerly of Altoona, PA passed away on January 13, 2017 at the age of 73. Known to his friends as Dan, he was a family man, veteran and entrepreneur. Living life to the fullest, Dan was the loving husband of Annette (nee Riccio) Phipps and they lived in Altoona, PA for 35 years until being relocated to Montgomery, OH. Dan and Annette met at Altoona High School (c. 1961) and were high school sweethearts. They were committed to a loving marriage for over 52 years. After high school, Dan showed patriotism and civic duty as he enlisted and actively served in the US Navy. Dan was the beloved and supportive father of Danny Phipps, Jr. and Heather (Will) Phipps Orr. He was the proud grandfather of Trey, Nate, Carly, Abby, Christopher, and Claire. Dan loved fishing, hunting, and was a jack of all trades. He was a man who believed in the core values of hard work, passion and determination. There was never a job to large for him. Dan was an amazing entrepreneur, and the former owner of Reliance Plumbing and Heating (Altoona), North Star Graphics and Printing (Blue Ash), and Dato Motors (Cincinnati). Dan was the brother of Carole Sultage and Patricia Trexler. Dan will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Mass and celebration of his life will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Cincinnati and officiated by Father J. Dennis Jasper on Friday, February 24 at 10:30 am-11:30 am.
