IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Constance Ann
Boston
April 20, 1960 – March 7, 2024
With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Beck, Boston, Dietz-Plageman, Fischer, Heithaus, Grubbs, Kilch, Klingler, and Smith families announce the passing of our kind, brave, caring and unimaginably sweet sister, aunt, great aunt and friend, Constance "Connie" Ann Boston (63).
In 2018, Connie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Her disease progressed over the following 6 years, and she completed her journey peacefully the morning of March 7, 2024.
Connie was born on April 20, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Betty and Bernie Boston.
After completing her education at Franks, a school designed for students with Down Syndrome children in 1978, Connie moved on to the transitional side of Franks where she cultivated many friendships, acquired life skills, participated in Special Olympics, and earned her "paychecks".
In 2008, Connie retired and spent her time attending day activity programs, square dancing, crafting, puzzles, trips to the beach and enjoying life. Her favorite thing was to eat at "fancy" restaurants which in her mind was anywhere there were cloth napkins and waitstaff. In some circles, Connie will be known as WDC (aka the wedding dance crasher), often beating the happy couple to the dance floor and being the last one standing.
For many years, Connie participated in an Aging and Down Syndrome Research study at the University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. Her brain has been donated to the program to further study the effects of Alzheimer's in the Downs Syndrome population.
Connie was predeceased in death by her parents, Betty and Bernie, and Stepfather, Neil Behrens; her Grandparents, Mary and John Beck, Florence and Joe Boston; her Aunts and Uncles, Patty Smith, Jeff Beck, Mary and Charlie Ruerring, Vick Praleikas, Margaret and Henry Lenzer, and Nancy Cope.
She is survived by her sisters, Brenda (Jim) Fischer, Jill (Ed) Dietz-Plageman, and Cheryl (Randy) Heithaus; her "adopted sister" Jenny Hardy; her Aunts and Uncles, Emma (Bob) Grubbs, Denny Smith, John (Janie) Beck, and Scott (Ann) Beck.
Her memory lives on with her nieces and nephews Brandon Dietz, Nicole (CJ) Kilch, Nathan (Jay) Fischer, Justin (Alexis) Beck, Jaime (Daniel) Lyle, Eryn (Adam) Klingler, Stephanie (Jimmy) Conners, Derek (Hannah) Dietz, Zach Heithaus, Matthew Fisher, and Nick Plageman; and great nieces and nephews Luca, Rosalie, Jack, Mila, Griffin, Freyja and Baby K.
All are welcome to visit and share stories with family and friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Homes, 129 N. Riverside Drive, Loveland, OH 45140.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Dominic Parish, 4551 Delhi Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45238.
Gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in Connie's memory to Down Syndrome of Cincinnati, Alzheimer's Association of Cincinnati, or the Ollie Schmidt Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 58225, Cincinnati, Ohio 45258.
Connie was such a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile would light up the whole room. Connie truly never met a stranger and freely shared her hugs with all she met. She will be remembered for all the heart she shared, her childish sense of humor, singing and dance moves.
The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the numerous aides, clinicians, drivers, doctors, medical technicians, nurses, program directors, receptionists, service provers, social workers and Loveland Fire and Police Department for their care of Connie and their guidance to us.
The family would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to their employers, friends and neighbors who supported them through Connie's journey.
