Obituary

Connie Frances Metzger was born May 10, 1961. The beauty of this birthday is Mother's Day usually falls on the 10th of May. Connie's loving parents, including her two sisters and brother waited patiently on her to be born. She was the light in our parent's life. As our mother always said, "Connie was God's special child." The love for Connie never changed in anyway after we learned, around six weeks of age, she had Downs Syndrome. Unfortunately, later on in life our parents died, however her sister, Ann, stepped in and became her guardian (surrogate) mother. Some of Connie's favorite things in life were listening to music and dancing. She could go through a box of Crayola markers and coloring books faster than anyone. She really enjoyed the weekly visits from her parents and the treats they would take to her. Later her dear sister Ann took over those visits. She loved it when Ann took her to the hair salon and how the stylists would make over her. Another treat was when Ann took her to Frisch's for a Sunday lunch and/or a walk in the park where they would sing and say prayers. The highlight during the week was getting on the bus and going to the Hamilton County workshops (Kidd & Franks). Connie always had a mind of her own. You usually did things her way. She was often called the "little princess." So many people that helped in her care grew to love her (Tonya #1, Beth, Patricia, Katie, Kristen, Tonya #2, Paetra, Mary, Melissa and Laura just to name a few). Connie left a hole in so many hearts with her passing. We take solace in the fact that she was met in heaven by Jesus and her parents who loved her on this earth. I'm sure she was greeted with open, loving arms. Those of us left behind are the ones that grieve. She has been made "whole" and all those earthly binds that kept her from doing so many things that she wanted to do are gone. She was and will always be, God's "Special Child." Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Scott Metzger and Frances Virginia (Swanger) Metzger. She is the beloved sister of Betty Darlene Effimoff & Igor Effimoff, Ann Scott Trapp & Randy Trapp, David Metzger & Laura Metzger. Cherished aunt of (7) nieces and nephews and (11) great nieces and nephews. She was a dear cousin to many and a loving friend of Patricia Miranda, Katie Leonard and Ella French Meier (a great-niece). She passed away October 17, 2015 at the age of 54. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Dr., Loveland, where friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment Confidence Cemetery, Georgetown, OH.
