Clyde Allen Boys, lovingly known as "Red," of Maineville, Ohio, passed away at the age of 87 on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Clyde and his beloved wife, Ruth Ellen Roberts Boys, had been married for 66 years. Clyde was born in Middletown, Ohio, on July 27, 1924 to the late Stanley and Leona Boys. His sister, Betty Tuncil, and brother, Myrl Boys, preceded him in death.
Clyde was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II on the USS Rehoboth as a Machinist's Mate. Before and after the war he was a set up man for The Ruth Lyons Show on WLW. Clyde then completed his career at the Ford Motor Company, serving as a mechanic for over 29 years.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, Clyde is survived by five sons: Michael Boys (Betty) of Loveland, Gary Boys (Cheryl) of West Chester, Stephan Boys of Maineville, Kevin Boys (Diane) of Wilmington, and Brent Boys (Lori) of Milford. In addition, Clyde was proud of his 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who loved him deeply.
Funeral services will be held at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Dr., Loveland, OH on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 10 AM where friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Waynesville, Ohio under full military honors.
Rev. Michael Boys will be officiating the service for his father Clyde.
Pallbearers to honor Clyde will be his grandsons: Scott Boys, James Boys, Brian Boys, Kyle Boys, Mark Boys, Paul Boys and Christopher Boys.
