Cynthia (Cindy) Smith (nee Hoxie) of Milford, Ohio. Loving mother of Daniel G. Smith (Gail), Sydney G. Smith (Teresa), Cormac Smith (Melinda) and Emer Smith. Cherished grandmother of Declan, Fintan, Sydney J., Oisin, Isabella and the late Andrew. Preceded in death by her parents Warren and Jean (nee Yorkey) Hoxie, brothers George and Jonathan Hoxie, and ex-husband and friend Sydney B. Smith. Died August 9, 2015 at the age of 68 from lung cancer. Cindy was a former resident of Elmira, Schuyler County and central NY; Ireland, Spain and Germany; and most recently, the greater Cincinnati area. She was an accomplished artist, but found her true calling helping others in need through leadership and career positions in Samaritan Center of Catholic Charities of the Southern Tier, the Childcare Council of the Finger Lakes and the Children's Hunger Alliance. Cindy was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy and SUNY Empire State College. Friends will be received Friday, August 14 from 6-8 p.m. at St. Margaret of York Catholic Church, 9495 Columbia Rd., Loveland, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
