Mark Richard Greatorex of Fayetteville, OH, went to be with the Lord after a battle with lung cancer on December 5, 2024, at the age of 56.

Mark leaves behind the love of his life Michele Race; his mother, Janet Greatorex; children, Megan and Matthew Greatorex; stepchildren, Aleisha (Mark) Erwin and Ian (Christen) Watterson; grandchildren, Myla, Kynsleigh, Charlotte, Hudson, Bodie, Hallie, and Asher; brother, Jeff Greatorex; numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Greatorex, and brother Terry Greatorex.

Mark was known by his close friends as "Bubba."

He passionately and faithfully served in the fire service for 42 years. He started his fire career as a cadet on the Loveland Volunteer Fire Department. He worked his way through the ranks and ended his career as Fire and EMS Chief of Wayne Township Clermont County.

Mark was also passionate about trains. He enjoyed "chasing trains," reading and learning about them, and loved going on train trips.

Mark was a Paramedic, Fire Fighter 2, Fire, Live Fire and EMS Instructor, Fire Safety Inspector along with many other certifications. Mark also worked for Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home as their crematory manager.

Chief Greatorex influence in the fire services will be remembered for generations to come. He mentored and invested heavily in countless firefighters throughout the Cincinnati area.

Friends will be received on Thursday, December 12, from 5pm to 8pm at the Goshen Church of God, 1675 Hill Station Rd., Goshen, OH, 45122. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11am at Goshen Church of God. Pastor Phil Hopper officiating.

Interment with fireman honors will be at Deerfield Cemetery in South Lebanon, OH.
