Charlotte Irene Fowler Bishop
Passed peacefully in her sleep on August 21, 2021 at the age of 92 in Oxford, MS.
Born and raised in West Palm Beach FL on December 15, 1928 to Bonnie Florence Olinger Fowler and Ralph Waldo Fowler, lived in Gainesville FL for a short time then finished high school in Boston MA.
Attended College of William and Mary during WWII, to study Commercial Art at what was then the Richmond Polytechnic Institute campus.
After graduation and after a short interval working at an advertising agency, she attended the University of Cincinnati to study Business Administration. She was active in Alpha Delta Pi sorority. While there, she met Harry Logan Bishop, Jr.
Married Harry in 1951 and after a short time in Youngstown working at Truscon Steel as an administrative assistant, Charlotte and Harry moved to Boston where Harry attended MIT to earn his Doctorate in Metallurgical Engineering and Charlotte continued working for Truscon Steel there.
After their son Forrest "Woody" Scott Bishop was born, the family moved to Pittsburgh, and two daughters were born: Michelle Meredith Bishop Nelson (married to James) and Patricia Lynn Bishop Leonard (married to Reed)
Charlotte loved to travel and was active in church women's groups, and had a passionate for art. She studied oil painting, flower arranging, and also china painting. She left a legacy of artwork including a painting of a lion which was housed for many years in the Alpha Delta Pi sorority house in Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
She was also a leader in organizing parents of disabled students in Pittsburgh, championing their children's rights to an education. She also supported March of Dimes.
After living in Albany, New York for many years, she retired with Harry and Woody to Cincinnati and most recently lived at Seasons Retirement Community in Cincinnati, then with her daughter Patricia in Florida and her daughter Michelle in Mississippi.
Predeceased by her sister, Bonnie E Fowler Pollard of Milford, OH, her husband Harry, and her son Woody.
Grandchildren are Robert Logan Nelson (Courtney), Aaron James Nelson, Katharine Meredith Nelson, Avery William Leonard (Anna), and Natalie Marie Leonard.
She also has several nieces and a nephew.
Family and friends will be received from 10-11 AM on Saturday, September 11 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N Riverside Ave, Loveland, OH 45140, where services will be held at 11 AM.
