Cecil Creech of Goshen, OH. Born on March 4, 1922 in Rockcastle County, KY. Went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2017 at the age of 95.
Beloved husband of the late Hazel E. (nee Harper) Hale Creech. Loving father of Phyllis (late Homer) Sumner, Brenda Guffey, Janet Creech, Alvin (Melody) Creech, Lewis (Brenda) Hale and Cindy (Danny) Wages. Caring grandfather of Tommy Sumner, Donald Sumner, David Sumner, Chad Creech, Carrie Gaddis, Todd Hale, Zachary Wages and the late Angela Lykins Franks. Proud grandfather of 14 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth (nee Jennings) Creech and 4 brothers and 6 sisters. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Cecil proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed by Ford Motor Company and retired after 38 years of service. He was a talented poet, songwriter, musician, and faithful member of the Goshen Church of God. He enjoyed his later years at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, OH., where he was lovingly and compassionately cared for.
Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 12 Noon at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of service.
Interment with military honors, Myers Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, 2003 Veterans Blvd., Georgetown, OH 45121.
