JOHNSTON Carolyn Blakeney Johnston, age 74, of 10780 Watkins Rd., Blanchester, OH., died 8/24/07 at home. She is survived by her husband, Richard S. Johnston, whom she married April 30, 1955. Mrs. Johnston was born Nov. 27, 1932 in Cincinnati, OH., the daughter of Lewis B. and Anna Bacot Blakeney. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnston was graduated from Mariemont High School and The Ohio State University. While at Ohio State she was elected membership in the honoraries of Mirror, Chimes and Mortar Board and was a member of the fraternity of Alpha Xi Delta. She served the Blanchester Public Library as treasurer of the Board from 1962 to 1988. After 1988 she continued working part-time at the library until the time of her death. She also served as a Sunday School teacher at the Grace United Methodist Church for fourteen years. She was currently a member of The Twentieth Century Club of Blanchester and a past president. Mrs. Johnston was also a member of Clinton Memorial Hospital Auxillary for many years. She is also survived by a daughter, Lynn Marie (Joe) Gionfriddo, of Landen, OH. and a son, Blake Johnston of Chicago, IL; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy (Cooper) Snyder of Hillsboro, OH. and two brothers: Lewis B. (Judy) Blakeney of Winthrop, WA. and Peter B. (Vicki) Blakeney of Atlanta, GA. Visitation will be at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 6 to 8 PM. A graveside service with family and close friends will be held at Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 11 AM. Rev. Robina Vaughn officiating.
