IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Ann
Kolp
December 8, 1951 – February 19, 2023
Carol Ann Kolp (nee Redmon), beloved, mother, grandmother, sister and wife, passed away February 19, 2023 at the age of 71 from pancreatic cancer.
Born on December 8, 1951 to Ruby and Willie Redmon in Cincinnati, she attended Indian Hill High School and the University of Cincinnati, where she met the love of her life, Richard Kolp. They married on June 7, 1975, and together, had two children, Scott and Stephanie.
Carol always put her family first. But, she also enjoyed her careers as office manager for Middletown Regional Hospital Partnership EAP and as a graphic designer for Southern Living magazine in Birmingham, AL.
When she retired, she spent half of the year in Florida, where her grandchildren, Dean and Graham, currently live. She had a particular bond with Dean. She fed him too many sweets, spoiled him with gifts, and never said "no" to his wants and needs. In the words of Dean, "She was the best!" She also spent her retirement fulfilling her love of the arts. She took pottery classes, enjoyed painting, and also volunteered at the Aronoff Center for the Arts.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Redmon (nee Morgan) and her father Willie Redmon. She is survived by her husband Richard, her son Scott (Robin), her daughter Stephanie (Brian Hirten), her grandsons Dean (6) and Graham (1), her sister Billie Trame (Gary Trame), sister-in-law Ruth Niehaus (Dave Niehaus) and nieces and nephew.
A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 12 at The Remington Room, 7813 Ted Gregory Lane, Montgomery, Ohio 45242. The family will make a short presentation sharing memories of Carol's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to PanCAN .
