Carlon Howard, 81, passed away on May 1, 2026, at his home in Blanchester, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.

Carlon was born August 27, 1944, at Lambric in Breathitt County, Kentucky, the son of Rev. Dock and Dovie (Prater) Howard.

Carlon is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loma (Richardson) Howard; three sons, Carl Howard, William (Kimberly) Howard of Blanchester, Ohio, Philip (Cathy) Howard of Maineville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Anna (Kyle) Reser of Pebbles, Ohio, Julia (Austin) Pollitt and Hayden (Brittany) Howard, of Lynchburg, Ohio, Logan (Natalie) Howard of Mason, Ohio, and Lydia Howard, of Maineville, Ohio; 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Carlon in death were his parents, one sister, Elizabeth (Sam) Taulbee of Springboro, Ohio; five brothers, Huey (Judy) Howard of London, Kentucky, Garner (Doris) and Dock, Jr., of Waynesville, Ohio, James Gardield (Gladys) and Adraien Howard of Lebanon, Ohio.

The funeral service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W Main Street, Blanchester, Ohio, where friends will be received from 9AM until the time of service.

Interment will take place at Blanchester Cemetery.
