Larrick
March 29, 1928 – February 16, 2024
Servant of the Lord and Christian Pilgrim Carl A. Larrick reached the Celestial City after his earthly journey of 95 years on February 16, 2024.
Mr. Larrick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a respected co-worker, coach, friend to many, and a longtime resident of Clinton County, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 77 years Ann Florea Larrick, a daughter Lynda C. Larrick (Wilmington, Ohio), and two sons Dana M. Larrick (Wilmington, Ohio) and Monte M. Larrick (Bolingbrook, Illinois.)
In addition, Mr. Larrick is survived by his daughter-in-law, Miriam E. Larrick, and Lynda C. Larrick's fiancé Dr. David Brown.
He is also survived by two granddaughters Mrs. Robert Holcombe (Camielle L.) (Romeoville, Illinois) and Carleigh G. Larrick (Chico, California), as well as two great-grandsons Elijah J. Holcombe and James I. Holcombe (Romeoville, Illinois) Mr. Larrick is preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan G. Larrick.
He is further survived by his nephew Kenneth H. Larrick (Blanchester, Ohio), eight other nephews, and one niece.
Carl Ausburn Richard Larrick was the last survivor of Clifford and Lavona Larrick's eleven children.
Mr. Larrick was employed by Cincinnati Milacron in Oakley for 27 years. During his 24 years of employment at the National Bank and Trust in Wilmington, he was the recipient of the company's National Champion and Excellence awards.
Mr. Larrick was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson High School in Midland, Ohio where he was a star basketball player.
He pitched and played shortstop in the Southwest Ohio League. and was scouted by the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals.
Mr. Larrick coached youth baseball in Clarksville, Ohio.
As a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Blanchester, Mr. Larrick served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and church bus driver. He also played for and coached the First Baptist Men's softball team, the women's softball team, and the men's basketball team.
A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Westboro IOOF Cemetery followed by a 1:00 pm memorial service at First Baptist Church Blanchester. All are welcome at both services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are being accepted by First Baptist Church Blanchester and Ohio Living Hospice.
