IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carey
Wright
March 13, 1962 – January 18, 2026
In loving memory of Carey.
Carey passed away after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Throughout his journey, he showed remarkable strength, grace, and resilience. For more than 17 years, he dedicated his life to the SPCA, where he cared for and loved countless animals. His gentle spirit and extraordinary connection with cats earned him the affectionate title of "The Cat Whisperer." Carey was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, friend, and an exceptional cat dad. He had a rare gift for bringing joy to others, and his warm infectious laugh could brighten even the hardest days. His presence made life lighter, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
A passionate bowler, Carey achieved multiple 300 games and an 800 series over the years - an accomplishment that brought him great pride. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of all Cincinnati sports and a loyal fan of the NFL Bengals. In his honor, Carey wished for those attending his service to wear their Bengals gear as a celebration of his unwavering team spirit. Carey was, at his core, a truly good human being - kind, compassionate, and full of heart. His legacy of love and care will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
Carey is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Ann (nee Lalor) Wright and brother, Cameron (Karen) Wright as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and many dear friends.
Carey is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Carol (nee Baker) Wright.
Friends will be received from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Friday, January 23 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 2:30 PM on Friday. Pastor Kevin Cain officiating.
The interment will take place at Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, OH. There will be food and fellowship after the interment at the SPCA, 11900 Conrey Rd., Cincinnati, OH, 45249.
In lieu of flowers, Carey requested that donations be made to the SPCA (SPCACincinnati.org), an organization that meant so much to him. He will be missed beyond measure.
