IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bryan Patrick
Murphy
August 26, 1956 – November 9, 2025
Bryan Patrick Murphy, born August 26, 1956, passed away on November 9, 2025. He was the son of the late Richard and Gertrude (nee. Okonsky) Murphy. Bryan had three children: Heather, Caitlin (Prasheel) and Kevin, and four grandchildren: Maggie, Caroline, Lily and Jordan. He is also survived by four siblings: Ellen (Kenneth), Rich (Joanne), Kate (Ryan), and Amy (Dave), along with nieces and nephews Kelly, Kristin (Scottie), Ashley, Eddie (Brittany), Patrick, Lauren (Zach), and great-nephews Case and Quinn.
Raised in Oakland, New Jersey, Bryan attended Don Bosco Prep and continued his education at Fairfield University, The University of Bridgeport, and finally Wesleyan University, where he earned his doctorate in biochemistry while working full-time to support his young family.
A man of deep faith in Jesus, Bryan spent his life striving to live his values and grow in his relationship with the Lord. Bryan was a devoted father, reading his children thousands of stories, spending countless hours helping them with their homework, and faithfully coaching their sports teams. He awoke well before dawn every day to get an early start at work and ensure he could be home for dinner and plenty of family time each evening. Beyond providing strong guidance, he showed his love through the gift of his time: one last game of Memory before bed, early Saturday morning breakfasts before anyone else was awake, long road trips to sunny summer baseball tournaments.
Bryan worked for 37 years in Research & Development and ultimately management before retiring from Procter & Gamble in 2016. During his career, he invested his time and talents in creating new products and technologies and supporting the next generation of technical leaders. Throughout his life and following his retirement, he enjoyed the pursuit of many diverse interests and hobbies: running, reading, gardening, woodworking, and even attaining his pilot's license. But he enjoyed nothing more than grabbing a cup of coffee and having a long conversation with a family member or neighbor. Bryan will be remembered and missed for his quick sense of humor, his strong convictions, and his enduring faith.
A memorial service for Bryan will be offered on December 13, 2025, at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home in Loveland, Ohio. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 10:45.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bryan's name to Samaritan's Purse humanitarian aid organization.
