In Loving Memory of Bonnie Blanton

Bonnie Blanton, a devoted wife, mother, and pillar of her family, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Floyd and Ruth (Bailey) Kilburn and married the late Robert Blanton, sharing 49 years of love and companionship.

Bonnie leaves behind a legacy of family, friendship, and love. She is survived by her three children: Charkay Rogers (Ronnie), Rob Blanton (Joyce), and Kevin Blanton (Shelly). Bonnie was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to 21 great-grandchildren. Bonnie is preceded in death by her brother Robert Kilburn and sisters Betty Short, Barbara Doughman, Jean Coogan, Charlene Kilburn, and Sandy Spears.

Her family was at the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to their well-being. Known as Mamaw Bonnie, Aunt Bonnie, or simply Bonnie, she was a private, proud, and devout Christian. Her family-focused approach, along with her commitment to education, ensured that her children received the gift of knowledge.

Bonnie's caring nature extended beyond her immediate family. She served as a caretaker for many family members, leaving no one without feeling loved, valued, and always well-fed. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she always had something for everyone who crossed her path.

While raising her family on a small farm in Pleasant Plain, Ohio, Bonnie also contributed to the community by working for the Little Miami School District as a custodian and lunch lady. Her selfless and dedicated approach to her roles further illustrated her unwavering commitment to serving others.

One of the greatest challenges Bonnie faced was the loss of her beloved husband, Robert. Together, they devoted their time to family and helping those in need. Her life embodied Christian beliefs, emphasizing love, compassion, and service to others.

Bonnie Blanton's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness and generosity. As we mourn her passing, let us celebrate a life well-lived and remember the impact she had on her family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Bonnie on Friday, January 26th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Blanchester Senior Center located at 707 Broadway Street, Blanchester, Ohio 45107. There will be a short service starting at 5:00pm honoring her if you wish to attend. Food will be provided following the service (approximately 5:45pm). All are welcome to stop by anytime between 5:00pm to 8:00 pm to celebrate Mamaw Bonnie's life with the family.
