Beverly E. Williams, born on April 1, 1930, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 96. Beverly’s long and remarkable life was a testament to devotion to her family, to education, and to the community of Blanchester, which she called home for her entire life.

Beverly’s roots in Blanchester ran deep; her family had made their home there since 1832. Raised on the Valley View Dairy Farms, she developed a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors and rural living. This connection endured throughout her life, as she lived in the same house on her beloved family property for more than seventy years, a place that grounded her and shaped her gentle, yet steadfast spirit.

Education was both Beverly’s passion and her calling. After earning her master’s degree in education with a minor in Biology from Wilmington College, Beverly embarked on a distinguished 42-year career in Blanchester’s high school. As an educator, coach, and mentor, she touched the lives of thousands of students, shaping young minds and fostering a welcoming environment that championed learning, fair play, and self-confidence. Her positive influence extended beyond the classroom: Beverly was particularly instrumental in establishing numerous sports teams for women, reflecting her enduring commitment to gender equality in athletics. Her advocacy reached further, as she became a tireless advocate for equal rights and civil rights, inspiring those around her to strive for fairness and justice.

Beverly’s legacy is evident in the countless messages received from former students, athletes, and community members whose lives she impacted. She is fondly remembered as not only an educator but as a pillar of kindness, grace, and unwavering strength. Many recall her classy demeanor, her beauty inside and out and the cool confidence with which she approached life. There will never be enough words to truly capture the profound effect she had on those who knew her.

In 1949, Beverly married Eugene Weaver Williams on September 11th. Their union lasted until Eugene’s passing in 2009, and together they built a family and a life filled with shared values and enduring love.

Beverly is survived by her loving granddaughter, Karey (Jeffrey Janson) Williams; her grandsons, Homer, Ulysses, Arlo, and Atlas Janson; her nieces, Nancy and Mariann; her nephews, Dwight and Jim Villars; her daughter-in-law, Annette Williams. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Eugene Williams; her beloved son, Christian Williams; her father, Homer Irvin; and her mother, Mary Irvin.

Though her absence will be profoundly felt, Beverly leaves behind a remarkable legacy, one rooted in community, education, advocacy, and the simple joys of rural life. She will be remembered fondly and with deep appreciation by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
