Betty Ann (nee Duffield) Singleton of Springdale, OH, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 29, 2026, at the age of 81. Betty was born on December 11, 1944, in Middlesboro, KY.
Betty was one of twelve children born to the late William and Pearl (nee Miller) Duffield. Her loving siblings; Mary Lawson, Jerry Standifer, Alberta Warwick, William (Leah) Duffield, Leonard (Glenda) Duffield, Juanita Marlow and the late Robert Duffield, Opal Taulbee, Beulah Morgan, Leroy Duffield and Freddy Duffield. Betty adored her brothers and sisters immensely. She cherished the time spent with them and loved going on “sister vacations.” When they weren’t together, Betty and her siblings were always on the phone.
Betty grew up in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She traveled to Cincinnati where she became a waitress and then manager of the Country Kitchen. This is where Betty met and eventually married Charles Sprinkles. Together they had five children, Tammy Carroll, Lesa (Kent) Jones, Winnie (Steve) Fisher, and the late Eddie Sprinkles and Stevie Sprinkles.
Betty later married Arnold Singleton and had a beautiful home in Springdale, Ohio. Betty spent a lifetime working tirelessly cleaning houses to perfection. She befriended and became “like family” to many households. She poured her heart and soul into her work and was very proud of her talent for making everything beautiful.
Betty loved the holidays and decorating and always cooked for an army. The breakfast she made on Christmas morning was impressive. Her catered meals and baked goods filled many homes and hearts. They were the chosen centerpieces on all our tables. She could turn tomatoes into roses and watermelons into baskets. Her cookie platters were spectacular. Betty also loved gardening and plants. She had an eye for beauty and that extended to her perfectly manicured and flower filled yard.
Betty had a deep spiritual relationship with God. As a worshiper at Middlesboro Church of God Mountain Assembly, Springdale Church of the Nazarene (where she was baptized), Goshen Church of God, and the River Hills Christian Church, Betty loved the Lord. As a believer, Betty quietly gave to others in their time of need, and this was her testimony.
Mostly Betty enjoyed time with her family and extended family. Betty had twelve
grandchildren: Ryan, Hillary (Bryon), Caitlin (Tyler), Gaige, Scooter, Robby (Chasity), Matthew (Brooke), Stevie (Zoe), Haylee (Jackson), Megan, Robby (Crystal) and Brodie; and twenty-five great grandchildren; and many deeply loved nieces and nephews. Betty also grandmothered numerous family members and friends. Betty’s family meant everything to her as they were her greatest gift.
Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Monday, October 5 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 12 Noon on Monday.
The interment will take place at Barker Cemetery, Lynchburg, OH.
