Betty J. Osborn, 75, of Shipshewana, died at 11:59 am, on Friday, January 18, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange. She was born on October 27, 1937, in London, KY, to Joe Parsley and Edith Robertson. On May 16, 1955 she married William Osborn; he died in 2002. Surviving are two daughters, Diane (Roger) Pairan of Shipshewana; Kylie Samantha-Joe Osborn at home; four sons, Timothy Osborn of Clarksville, OH, Jeffrey Osborn of Blanchester, OH, David (Sarah) Osborn of Topeka, Michael Osborn of Goshen, OH; 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel (Richard) Chaney of Waynesville, OH, Alfreda Reed of Blanchester, OH; brother, Virgil (Lauae) Douglas of Westboro, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She was a member of Topeka Mennonite Church, enjoyed spending time with family and had an unbelievable love for babies. She received her truck driver's license at the age of 56 so she could drive truck with her husband, and was a member of the teamsters union. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday January 22, at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main Street, Blanchester, OH 45107, where services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday January 23. Services will be conducted by Pastor Paul Crisp. Burial will be in Second Creek Cemetery in Blanchester, OH.
