With sadness we announce the passing of Bertha Oberding Phelan, 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio on October 3, 2019.
Bertha was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Elmer and Mildred Oberding on May 23, 1926. She married Robert T. Phelan in June of 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her loving parents and husband preceded her in death. Bertha was a proud wife and mother. She worked for Mabley and Carew and for many years for H.J. Benken Florist as a bookkeeper.
Bertha Phelan was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Terry Phelan, grandson, Stephen Phelan, her brothers, Bud, Albert, Bill, Bob, Fred Oberding and sister Clara Wagner.
Bertha is survived by her loving sons, Thomas E. Phelan and wife Sharon, and Patrick C. Phelan and wife Amy, daughter-in-law Connie (widow of Robert Terry Phelan), 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren plus several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Friends will be received Monday, October 7 from 11 AM - 12 PM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland, where funeral services will follow at 12 PM. Entombment Rest Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Ohio.
