Albert "Bert" Crawford of Batavia, OH. Went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2024 at the age of 71. Bert was born on October 24, 1952 in Goshen, OH to Elbert and Cleo Crawford.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Shirley Mae (nee Zachary) Crawford; two daughters, Kim (Michael) Hughes, Becky (Tim) Gilley; one son, Bert (Robi) Crawford; seven grandchildren, Michael (Erin) Hughes, Steven (Kelsie) Hughes, Katelyn (Jeremiah) Kirby, Dylan (Isabella) Gilley, Madelyn Gilley, Ryli Crawford and Colt Crawford; seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Kadence, Skylar, Kinsleigh, Dean, Grayson and baby Hughes; three brothers, Bill (Myra) Crawford, Clyde (Shirley) Crawford and Larry (Jenny) Crawford; one sister, Rhonda (Dan) Barker; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.
Bert is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Cleo (nee Lawson) Crawford; two sisters, Alma Cordes and Kimberly Crawford; four brothers, Ralph, Elbert, Sam and Paul Crawford.
Bert married the love of his life at the age of 15 and from there they built an amazing life together filled with love and happiness. Anyone who knew him knows Bert had a passion for work but his greatest passion was his family. A dear friend once said about Bert, "that if a man's success was measured by the love shown by his family, Bert is the most successful man he's ever known."
Friends will be received from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, June 1 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 11 AM on Saturday. Pastor Troy Ervin officiating.
Interment, Greenberry Cemetery, Jackson TWP, OH.
