Bernard “Barry” Michaelson, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on August 26, 2026, in Blanchester, just days before his 87th birthday. He was born on August 29, 1939, in Welch, West Virginia.

Barry will be remembered as a hardworking and familiar presence in the community as the owner and operator of Blanchester Five & Ten. Through his work, he became part of the daily life of many in Blanchester, and his dedication left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He also served his country in the Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and commitment. 

He is survived by his son, Brad (Carrie) Michaelson, and by his grandchildren, Etain Brunner, Cora Michaelson, and Vera Michaelson. They carry forward his memory and the place he held in their lives and family.

Barry was preceded in death by his father, Morton Michaelson, and his mother, Esther (Rosenzweig) Michaelson.

Bernard “Barry” Michaelson will be remembered with respect and affection by his family and by the Blanchester community he served for many years. His life was marked by work, service, and family, and his memory will remain with those who knew and loved him.
