It is with deep sorrow and with much love that we mourn the passing of Barry L. Covert, 84 on May 20,2023.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Samuel Ray and Alma Covert, and his 12 siblings. He married his lovely wife Margie Covert, on February 27, 1960.

He was a proud father of Kimberly (Darvel)Helton, Charles (Leslie) Covert, Karen(Orlan)Jordan, Vicki (John)Collins. Grandfather of Melissa, Melinda, Melanie, the late Kathleen, Kelly, Lynnae, the late Heather, Bethany, Phillip, Ryan, and Megan. Great grandfather of Lukas, Liam, Briana, Frankie, Bronwyn, Ren, Ruby, Vera, DanniLynn, Robbie and mini Mann (due in September). Barry was also an uncle to several nieces and nephews.

He was a Purple Heart recipient from the Vietnam War and retired after serving in the Army for 21 years. He enjoyed professionally driving trucks and pursued this as his remaining career for various companies.

He loved spending time with his family, from climbing Mt Rainier, swimming in the Atlantic, Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, traveling from coast to coast, camping, boating, fishing, visiting amusement parks and still had time enjoying his hobbies of restoring old cars and motorcycles. He was a jack of all trades and a hero in our eyes.

He was a fighter till the end and on a journey that we cannot see but know that Heaven will be his forever home. Rest in Peace till we meet again.

A funeral service will take place at 10:30 on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W Main St., Blanchester, where friends will be received from 9:30am until time of the service at 10:30am.

Interment will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln., Williamstown, Kentucky 41097 following services at the funeral home.
