Barbara Hansen of Maineville, OH, Professor Emerita of English at UC and author of four books, died July 1 at The Lodge Care Center in Loveland. She was 73 years old. Barbara was born in Indianapolis, IN, September 27, 1935, to Ruth Edna (1902-1984) and Joseph Martin Hansen (1907-1992). Survivors include her life-long friend, Rebecca Maureen McDaniel (a UC professor of English and Communication), Pamela Miller McDaniel (Rebecca's partner), Donna Keller (a sister in Jacksonville, IL), four nieces and nephews, and numerous former students A native of Muncie, IN, she moved to Cincinnati in 1972, where she taught at UC-RWC from 1972 until 2005. She earned her Ph.D. from Ball State University in 1971 and retired from UC as a full-time professor in 2002.
