Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of August "Gus" Eugene DePrez, who departed this life peacefully on July 3rd, 2025, at the age of 87. A beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Gus's life was marked by faith, dedication, and a deep love for his family.

Born in Rochester, New York, August 6th, 1937, while in his early adolescence, Gus lost his parents and relied primarily on foster care while growing up. Gus was not deterred by the early loss of his parents as he built a respected thirty plus-year career in the precision tool industry ultimately rising to Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Lexington Machining LLC (formerly Ness Inc.) Rochester, NY. Additionally, Gus was a proud member of Brook Lea Country Club, little league coach and active parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Chili, New York.

In his retirement, Gus and Nancy moved to Cincinnati to be closer to family. Retirement activities included business consulting, HOA President, playing lots of golf, and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds.

More importantly, Gus was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in the company of his loved ones which often included a very dry martini and family dinner. His legacy is carried on by his three children Mark (Mary) DePrez, Michael (Bernadette) DePrez and Suzanne (Rick) Morman, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren, who will remember his charisma, warmth, and how proud he was of his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 63 years, Anne "Nancy" DePrez, and grandchild, Michael Morman.

August Eugene "Gus" DePrez was an awesome Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa, and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

A celebration of Gus's life will be held on Saturday, August 9th, at St. Columban Catholic Church, 894 Oakland Rd, Loveland, OH with Mass at 10:30 AM, to be followed by an inurnment ceremony at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati , 4310 Cooper Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
