Obituary

Audrey Marie (nee Sieber) Koch of Goshen, OH, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 90.

She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati in 1953. She attended college before getting married in 1954.

Mom loved people! She would strike up conversations with strangers and with people she met decades ago while a cashier at the former Land-O-Goshen IGA. If you touched her heart, she included you in her private circle and remembered you with cards – birthdays, holidays, special occasions. If one of her children loved someone, she loved that person, too.

She also loved to travel. She started modestly: She and Dad would toss 6 kids into the old station wagon and visit sites in Ohio or go to a beach at Lake Erie or drive to St. Louis to visit our Koch counterparts.

Once she and Dad retired, they expanded their trips to include river boat cruises and annual trips to visit daughters in Florida, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia. They frequently went with the Primetimers on bus trips all over – including Nova Scotia. With Dad's blessing, Mom went to Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, and Sri Lanka for her granddaughter's wedding.

Mom was adventurous in her last couple of decades. She went ziplining at Niagara Falls, rode an elephant in Sri Lanka, went parasailing in Florida, and hiked in Colorado and Texas.

Now she's on a new adventure and we're sure she's already made new friends.

She is survived by daughters Susan Herd, Kathy (Randy) Whitacre, Mary Imfeld, and Carol (Tim) Farek; sons Jim (Cathy) Koch and David (Theresa) Koch; siblings, Joe (Carol) Sieber, and Frank (Kathy) Sieber; sister-in-law Ruth Koch.

Her survivors include 16 grandchildren: Karyn (Scott) Forman, Paul (Amy) Whitacre; Nate (Laura) Koch, Ben (Kati) Koch, Selena (Deep) Ramanayake, Sam (Brittney) Koch, Anna Koch; Matt (Jess) Koch, Tom (Courtney) Koch, Derek (Kyleigh) Koch, Aaron Koch; Tyler (Melissa) Imfeld, Jacob Imfeld, Allyson Imfeld; Gus Farek and John Farek.

She also had 21 great grandchildren: Chase Forman, Tate Forman, Austin Kube, Charlie Whitacre, Carter Whitacre; Natalie Koch, Noah Koch; Skylar Metz, Joseph Metz, Chloe Welke, Alaina Koch, Liam Koch; Gaia Ramanayake; Emma Koch; Martin Imfeld; Connor Koch, Isaac Koch, Scarlett Koch; Khloe Koch, Clayton Koch, and Jackson Koch.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gene Koch, her parents Joe and Mary (nee Buerger) Sieber, her son-in-law David Herd, her sister Patti Blust, her brother Bob Sieber, and her brother-in-law Wally Koch.
