Arthur C. Hedrick, 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Grassy Meadows and Charleston, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at his home. Born September 25, 1927, he was the son of the late Marion and Carrie Hedrick. Art grew up in Sam Black, WV on his family's farm.
Served in the US Navy during the Korean War. As a young man, Art always wondered what was in the WV mountains so he studied geology . He graduated from WVU with a Geology degree and worked for the state of WV until retirement.
Those left to cherish Arthur's memory are his 4 sons Stephen (Lydie) of Supply, North Carolina, Kurt (Vivian) of Richmond, Virginia, Todd (Lisa) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kyle (Mindee) of Midlothian, Virginia; 4 grandchildren Ryan, Erin, Kyle, and Christopher; brother Clyde (Hilda) Hedrick of Charleston, WV; sister, Mary Dunbar of Ann Arbor, MI, many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Josephine B. Hedrick, his parents, and siblings; Charlie Hedrick, Ruth Arnold, John Hedrick and Walt Hedrick.
Burial will be in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 17 at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, 16155 Midland Trail W, Clintonville, WV 24931.
