Amy L. Redmond, a fantastic woman who broke barriers in the construction industry, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, in Loveland, OH, at the age of 79. Her remarkable career and dedication to pioneering women in construction will be remembered by many.
Amy, preceded in death by her mother, June Cates, and stepfather, Jack Cates, grew up in a family that valued hard work and determination. She carried these values into her professional life, where she built a long and successful career in a field traditionally dominated by men. Amy's influence and leadership paved the way for countless women to follow in her footsteps, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Amy was the devoted mother of Joe (Erin) Redmond and Victoria (James) Hubbard. She found immense joy and pride in her role as a grandmother to Melanie, Addison, Samantha, Abigail, Logan, and Tyler. Her family was her greatest source of happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Amy's loving spirit extended to her siblings, June (Frank) Trainor, Linda Dincler, Helen (the late Harry) Knecht, and Billy (Donna) Sempsrott. She was also a beloved sister-in-law to Elaine Sempsrott. Amy's bond with her late brothers, Charlie Sempsrott and Ronnie Sempsrott, remained strong throughout her life. As a caring aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, Amy's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Amy L. Redmond's legacy as a pioneering woman in construction and her unwavering love for her family will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her. Her life inspires future generations by demonstrating the power of perseverance, love, and breaking boundaries.
Please join the Redmond Family on September 22nd from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. as they celebrate Amy's life with a gathering of family and friends. The celebration will be held at The Great Meadows Shelter in Sharon Woods Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) .
