Alvin H. Janson Jr. of Loveland, OH, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025, at the age of 82. Al was born on October 1, 1942, in Loveland, OH to Alvin and Anna Janson.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Lana (Mick) Vandt, six grandchildren; Mikayla Vandt, Ethan Lloyd, Owen Lloyd, Jennifer Caudill, Crystal Roehm and Adam Roehm, three sisters; Mary Ann (Steve) Ellis, Theresa (late Tom) Sloan and Cathy (Jim) Engel; one brother, Phillip (Marilyn) Janson, also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends. Al is preceded in death by his wife, Iona Marie (Smith) Janson, stepson, Herb Roehm, parents; Alvin H. Sr. and Anna Marie (nee Burk) Janson.

Al was a 1961 graduate of Loveland High School. His mechanical nature took him immediately to the GM certified mechanic school. He worked 9 years as a mechanic for Chevrolet in Milford. Al then worked 13 years as a millwright at LeBlond in Norwood before starting his own business, Janson Electric, which he retired from after 45 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a vital part of an Indy Racing Team for 11 years and the Hoffman Auto Racing Team for over 40 years. He also enjoyed his two grandsons, teaching them his favorite hobbies, hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday, January 20 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 21 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 5890 Buckwheat Rd., Milford, OH. Fr. Ed Pratt presiding.

Interment, St. Andrews Cemetery, Milford, OH.
