Allen Wernke, aged 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on November 7, 2024, after a courageous 9-year battle with colon cancer. He was a beloved husband of 41 years to Joan (née Bachman); loving father of Patti (Derek) Endres, Brian (Tori) Wernke and Karen Wernke; and Papa to Olivia, Zack, Sam and Emma. Allen is also survived by his siblings Paul (Diane) Wernke, Bruce (Jeanine) Wernke, Dan (Jessica) Wernke, Glenn (Lynley) Wernke, Mike (Beth) Wernke, and Theresa (Mark) Chumley; as well as his father and mother in-law Frank and Patricia Bachman; brother in-laws Mike (Joy) Bachman and Frank Bachman; sister in-law Laura (Eric) Christy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Paul B. Wernke, mother Marian (nee Merk) Wernke, and nieces Hannah, Jessica, and Stephanie Wernke.

Some of Allen's favorite pastimes included genealogy, golf, playing cards, traveling, camping, and watching Ohio State football. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family (especially his grandchildren). Allen was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Harrison Council 2633) for more than 20 years.

After earning a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an M.B.A from the Ohio State University, he had a successful sales career with Emerson Process Management (Rosemont) and Cornerstone Controls. He retired in 2022 from OSIsoft/ Aveva after 15 years in sales and customer success management.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Tufts-Schildmeyer, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columban Catholic Church, 894 Oakland Rd., Loveland. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either The Pray-Hope-Believe Foundation or The Ohio State University James Cancer Research Center .
