IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice M.
Hagenschneider
September 13, 1935 – October 10, 2022
Alice M. (nee Fey) Hagenschneider of Madeira. Beloved wife of the late Albert Hagenschneider. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Bill Fey. Cherished sister of Nancy (Jim) Williams, Danny Fey (deceased), Donna Fey, Beulah (Carl) Wiggins (deceased), Hershel (Marty) Fey (deceased). Dear aunt of Fredrick Fey, William "Bill" (Darlene) Williams, Nicholas (Courtney) Meyer, Tara Mays, Barbara Leever, Connie Anderson (deceased), Ronnie Hilton (deceased), and Elvin Hilton. Great aunt of Sarah Fey, Megan (Ryan) Dull, Matthew (Lydia) Williams, Remington Meyer, Maxton Meyer, Boston Meyer, and Molly Meyer. Also survived by her loyal canine companion, Sandy. Passed away October 10, 2022 at the age of 87.
Alice's family gratefully acknowledges the care received from Cathy Williams, Dianne Mahaffey, Teresa and Tara Mays, Jennifer Parry, and Suzie Poulin. Special thanks to the Madeira Police Department for their support.
Alice was a lifelong resident of Madeira. She married Allie in the late 50's after he returned from serving in the Army during the Korean War. They lived in Norwood for a short time but moved back to Madeira.
Alice began her career right out of High School at Balcrank. After Balcrank closed she began working at United Liberty and worked there until her retirement.
Of course, people who knew Alice knew she could not just sit at home after her retirement, so she had various part time jobs. One of these included babysitting for one of our sister's friends. She became very attached to this little girl named Tara who remained in her life helping take care of her Aunt Alice.
Alice and Allie had no children of their own but raised our nephew, Fred. They had LOTS of animals (special dogs, cats, birds, and even rabbits) that were their "children." She always made sure her animals were the best fed and well cared for.
Alice had many friends including the Madeira Police Chief and Officers. They were very special to her. She never met a stranger. By the time she got done talking to them, she knew everything about them especially if they had animals.
I forgot to mention she loved the outdoors. She loved boating, fishing and camping. One trip to Lake Erie she caught a six-pound Walleye and had it stuffed. It is hanging on her basement wall. Alice loved her family and all her friends and her animals. If you walked by her house, you'd think nothing of seeing her with a piece of bread in hand feeding a deer or two.
She and Allie attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Milford. She loved her fellow congregation members. Church and her faith meant a lot to Alice. We listened to Pastor Fenker's sermon and service Sunday before she went to our Heavenly Father early Monday morning. Sandy, her long-time canine companion never left her side.
We all loved Alice and will miss her smile, determination, and personality but we know she is reunited with her devoted husband Allie and family and friends. And no doubt she had a grand reunion at the Rainbow's Bridge.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 22 from 10-11 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5849 Buckwheat Rd., Milford, OH 45150, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will take place on Monday, October 24 at 11 AM at Hopewell Cemetery, Montgomery.
Donations, in Alice's memory, may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or to Save the Animals Foundation, 4011 Redbank Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45227.
