Alene A. Panetta, 91, a long-time resident of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, passed away on October 2, 2023.

Born March 16, 1932, in Harlan Co., Kentucky, daughter of Edward and Nannie Merle (Golden) Scalf. She was a trustee of Harlan Township for four years. A dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Blanchester, Ohio. Alene was a devoted partner with her husband, Fred, in Panetta Excavating for 40 years.

Along with her parents, Alene was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo "Fred" G. Panetta; sons-in-law, Dan Pelosi and Doug Cales; sisters, Wilma Newsom and Georgia Ellis; brothers, Edward Scalf and Bill Scalf.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Hurst, Kim Pelosi, and Pam Cales; grandchildren, Jason (Crystal) Hurst, LeAnne (Randy) Young, Joe Pelosi, David (Kendra) Pelosi, Katie (Thomas) Messer, and Matthew Cales; great-grandchildren, Waylon, Wyatt, Whitley Ella, Cameron, Jenna, Jayden, Evelyn, Lucas, and Easton; brother, David Scalf.

Friends will be received from 5-7pm on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, Ohio.

The funeral will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home-Goshen.

Interment will take place at Wesley Chapel, Pleasant Plain, Ohio.
