Al McGlasson was born on April 25, 1939 in Elmhurst, IL and passed away peacefully on March 21, 2022 after a long-term battle with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) and a short-term battle with an aggressive Lymphoma. Beloved Husband of Sandra (nee Biederman) McGlasson for over 47 years. Loving father of Dana Varga (Jim) and Scott McGlasson (Patti). Proud grandfather of Carlie Helton (Nick) , Cody Varga, Jackson McGlasson, and Louis McGlasson. Great Grandfather of Ella Helton After retiring from his position of Materials and Planning Manager at Buckhorn, a Myers Industries Company, after 31 years, Al enjoyed creating and completing project after project in both his house and yard. Family was most important to him. His love for his wife, children and grandchildren was his driving force. Because of the miles separating him from his extended family, the many visits, outings, and trips that he shared together with them were the highlights of his life. A secondary passion was his love for University of Cincinnati Athletics. As a season ticket holder and UCATS member for over 30 years, Al and Sandy enjoyed many wonderful, exciting athletic experiences and had the opportunity to attend many events. He will always remain a loyal Bearcat. If you asked Al how he would describe himself he would say: logical, knowledgeable, ethical, and inquisitive. His family would describe him as: loving, kind, caring, supportive, and sincere. He also will be remembered for this wry sense of humor and his persistent habit of teasing everybody and everyone. Please join the McGlasson family on May 6 to celebrate Al's life. We hope that our friends will join us in telling stories and sharing memories of Al. This will be an opportunity for our children and grandchildren to meet the many friends who have enriched our lives. This will also be an opportunity for our friends to meet the California McGlasson's: Scott, Patti, Jackson and Louis, as well as the Illinois clan, the Varga's: Dana, Jim, and Cody and the Helton's: Carlie, Nick and Ella, who they have heard so much about through the years..
