Mrs. Ada Jean Minton, age 97, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash with her family and devoted pastor by her side.
Jean was a lifelong resident of Blanchester, OH where she was born at home to Forrest C. and Sylvia (Double) McCall on October 2, 1924. She was a 1942 graduate of Blanchester High School. On Feb. 13, 1943 she married Clennie W. Minton, they were married 48 years until his death in 1991. In 1989 she retired from Clinton Memorial Hospital after 30 years of dedicated service.
Jean's foremost passion other than her family was her service to the Lord. She was a faithful follower for over 70 years through the Nazarene Church. Many lives were changed and/or led to God through her quiet and wise spiritual counsel.
Jean enjoyed life in the simplest of ways. She devoted many years and endless love to her family and enjoyed her free time quilting, embroidering, knitting and spending precious time with her 4 siblings. She fully fulfilled her titles of Wife, Mom, Gramma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Clennie; her son Walter D. Minton; grandsons Roger Holcomb, Christopher Minton; and treasured friend Virginia Brooks.
She is survived by her three daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Holcomb of Springfield, IL; Linda Carman of Loveland, OH; Karen (Dave) Erpenbeck of Cincinnati; more grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren than can be listed without leaving someone out. She also leaves behind her beloved church family, especially her much valued and respected Pastor, Paul Crisp.
Visitation will be held at the Blanchester Nazarene Church, 10451 OH-28, Blanchester, on Tuesday, December 14th from 11am to 1pm. Funeral will immediately follow.
Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Blanchester.
