Our beloved son, brother and friend, Aaron Michael Myers, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 19, while visiting his grandparents in St. George, UT. The second of five children, Aaron was born May 28, 1996, in Trenton, N.J., to Craig Michael Myers and Beth Lenore Silvester Myers.
The family lived in Newtown, PA, and Erie, PA, before settling in Loveland, Ohio, when Aaron was 8 years old. As a child, Aaron was happy, accelerated in school and relished being outdoors and doing things such as tromping thru the woods, camping, building fires and catching crawdads in the creek behind his house. Aaron loved animals and for a time kept chickens as pets. After building a coup with his grandfather, Aaron tirelessly nurtured his chickens, especially "Noodles" who figured out how to evade the snakes, foxes and raccoons by perching in a nearby tree.
Aaron loved all adventures outdoors, including hiking, snowboarding, scuba diving and fishing. At the age of 14, he earned the nicknames, "Bearbait" and "Bear-on," after being attacked by a bear and miraculously surviving on a scouting trip in New Mexico. He went on to become an Eagle Scout.
Aaron had an affinity for music, playing the cello in his junior high and high school orchestras as well as in the Blue Ash Youth Symphony Orchestra. He loved sports and was competitive. In high school, he played lacrosse, water polo and rugby. He also enjoyed playing tennis, golf and basketball.
In 2014, Aaron graduated from Sycamore High School and looked forward to the future. He chose to go to Utah State University in Logan, UT, where he studied computer science and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. Two weeks after he left that fall for school, his family moved to Houston, TX.
Everyone knew Aaron to be fun loving, caring and sensitive. He was the group goofball, making people laugh and smile. He also loved to serve others in whatever way he could, especially those who needed to be lifted up. He loved little children and they loved him.
He loved his parents and his brothers and sister, he loved being with them, and he loved beating them all at Settlers of Catan.
Aaron will always be remembered for his caring and sensitive heart. His smile would light up a room. He was an example to us all. We will miss him.
Aaron is survived by his parents, Craig and Beth Myers of Sugar Land, TX; his siblings, Collin, Claire, Preston and William Myers of Sugar Land, TX; his grandparents, Patricia Myers of St. George, UT, and William and Nancy Silvester, also of St. George, UT. Aaron is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Myers.
A viewing will be held on Tues., June 28, from 5-8 p.m., at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, at 129 Riverside Dr., Loveland, OH. Funeral services will be on Wed., June 29, at 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8250 Cornell Rd., Montgomery, OH.
